Desarae Dee is an award-winning Canadian instrumental fusion artist, composer, producer, and GRAMMY® voting member, globally known as The Queen of Vibes and now entering a bold new era as The Sonic Midwife. Blending jazz, gospel, soul, and electronic influences, she creates bold, immersive sonic experiences that inspire and uplift audiences worldwide.
Since launching her career in 2014, Desarae has built a dynamic global presence through her innovative artistry and thought leadership. Her viral #4ChordWorship series has amassed over 3 million combined views and, together with her Dee’s Theory Spotlight content, continues to educate and inspire musicians internationally. Across YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, her work has garnered millions more views, cementing her status as a leading voice in modern instrumental music.
She has performed on major stages including NAMM, Canadian Music Week, Sofar Sounds Toronto, Waveland Canada, and Toronto Pearson Airport, and is a Yamaha, Hammond Organ USA, and Juicy Earz Artist. In 2024, Desarae released Adventure: The Album; a 10-year legacy project reflecting her journey as a Black woman instrumentalist breaking barriers in the global music industry. The album is now building momentum toward GRAMMY® consideration, as she expands her international reach through performances, partnerships, and strategic collaborations.
Now stepping into her second decade of artistry, Desarae is expanding her mission: to usher in sound that births transformation. She brings unapologetic innovation and spiritual fire to every sound she creates; disrupting norms, healing hearts, and leading the next wave of musical expression. As a visionary force and cultural architect, she’s reimagining the future of sound, ministry, and creative freedom for a new generation; blending sonic excellence with divine intention to birth something radically original, deeply resonant, and undeniably transformative.
Beyond the stage, Desarae is a dedicated educator and mentor, serving as Music Director for the University of Toronto Faculty of Music Gospel Choir and supporting the next generation of artists through programs like the Marigold Music Program. Through her artistry, leadership, and unwavering commitment to excellence, Desarae Dee continues to redefine the possibilities for instrumental fusion artists and Black women in music worldwide; ushering in a new decade of destiny through sound.
