ABOUT DESARAE DEE

Desarae Dee is an internationally and institutionally recognized award-winning Canadian Fusion Artist, composer, producer, and GRAMMY® voting member, globally known as The Queen of Vibes and currently creating in her transformative era as The Sonic Midwife. She is the Chief Executive Founding Officer (CEFO) of Desarae Dee Music Group Inc. (DDMG), a multidisciplinary music company dedicated to innovative performances, production, education, and immersive sonic experiences.

Blending Jazz, Gospel, Soul, and Electronic influences, Desarae creates bold, emotionally resonant musical worlds that heal, elevate, and transform audiences internationally. Since launching her career in 2014, she has built a dynamic global presence through her innovative artistry, educational leadership and visionary creative direction.

Her multi-platform viral #4ChordWorship series has amassed nearly five million combined views, positioning her as one of today’s most influential voices in modern instrumental music. She has performed on major stages including NAMM, Canadian Music Week, Sofar Sounds Toronto, Waveland Canada, and Toronto Pearson International Airport, where she held an 8 week solo artist residency in late 2025, highlighting Canadian artistry in one of the nation’s busiest hubs.

A proud Yamaha, Hammond Organ USA, and Juicy Earz Artist, she has toured nationally and internationally with the acclaimed hip-hop/jazz collective Super Duty Tough Work since 2023, expanding her artistic reach across Canada and abroad.

In September 2024, Desarae released Adventure: The Album, a 10-year legacy project chronicling her journey as a Black woman instrumentalist breaking barriers in the global music industry. The project achieved 2026 GRAMMY® Awards consideration in three categories: Best Contemporary Instrumental Album, Best Instrumental Composition (“Adventure”), and Best Engineered Album (Non-Classical), further solidifying her influence in contemporary instrumental music.

Now firmly in her Sonic Midwife era, Desarae’s focus is clear: to birth transformation through sound. Through liver performance, composition, education, mentorship and immersive storytelling, she continues to challenge artistic boundaries while cultivating spaces for healing, innovation, and emotional connection. As both The Queen of Vibes and The Sonic Midwife, she bridges her legacy of groove, emotion, and authenticity with a renewed purpose: to create music that transcends boundaries and delivers healing on a soul level.

Beyond the stage, Desarae is a dedicated educator, mentor and creative leader. She serves as Music Director and Lead Accompanist for the University of Toronto Faculty of Music Gospel Choir, an Elementary Teacher with the Toronto District School Board and mentors emerging creatives through Women in Music Canada, the Marigold Music Program, and the GRAMMY® U Mentorship Program.
